It’s Cherry Blossom Time in Wisconsin

We’re in the middle of the spring season where all things are bursting forth in glorious bloom. That includes the iconic cherry blossoms up in Door County, Wisconsin.

Did you know that this part of Wisconsin is known for its shallow soil which makes fruit growing so effortless and plentiful? Cherry trees became popular to plant in this region in the late 1800’s, steadily making this region abundant with the tart cherry crop. Today, around 10% of all cherries grown in the US come directly from Door County, Wisconsin.

We love a good Wisconsin cherry as much as the next person, and at Sweet P’s we’ve crafted several of our products around this sweet and sour fruit.
